Still In Planning Stage But Phase 1 Is Underway

Our Veterans Memorial Park celebrates the American spirit as well as providing a space for visitors with an atmosphere of natural beauty, peace for quiet meditation, and a sense of dignity and honor to the memory of veterans and loved ones.

At present the OVMP planning committee is meeting and developing features and phases for the design and time frame for construction.

First and foremost the park is to be a memorial to all who have served our country from Washington Parish. This is a preliminary design which shows the Plaza Center featuring the US flag, the State of Louisiana flag and the Missing in Action flag. The circular plaza will be surrounded by park benches, granite monuments and flags for each branch of service: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard as well as Space Force.

Commemorative engraved brick pavers will be available as a lasting tribute in designated areas of the park. Ample handicap and tradtional parking will be available as well.
